Kristina Shafranski is a Ukrainian American soprano born and raised on Long Island, New York. Kristina has captivated audiences across the U.S. and internationally with her lyric soprano voice.

This season, Kristina Shafranski debuted the title role of Puccini’s Suor Angelica in Asiago, Italy with Varna International Academy under the baton of Gregory Buchalter with compelling commitment to the text and story.

Kristina returned for her 12th season with Oyster Bay Music Festival to perform opera scenes in local and historical venues around Long Island, New York.

Kristina is also pleased to join MABC’s Emerging Artists Fellowship program for the 25/26 season including the title role of Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta this Spring.

In 2024, Kristina performed in Vincerò Academy’s Opera Gala at Carnegie Hall, and debuted in Morelia, Mexico as Micaëla in Bizet’s Carmen with International Opera Summer Festival of Morelia.

Additionally, Kristina has performed with esteemed companies and festivals such as Light Opera of New Jersey, Long Island Opera Theater, Narnia Music Festival in Narni, Italy, Chicago Summer Opera, New York Lyric Opera Theater, and the Northwinds Symphonic Band of Long Island, NY.

One of Kristina’s most memorable performances was in 2019, when she traveled to Kyiv, Ukraine and performed opera scenes with the National Presidential Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine on the Bouquet Kyiv Stage.

Kristina’s noteable awards include Finalist in the National Opera Association’s 2019 Scholarship Division, and first-place with the Festival of Song USA 2015 where she performed in Sicily, Italy for the Cantamare Festival.
